KK: I was invited to play at the GABBA Fest 2015 which was held in Macon, Georgia from Sept. 25th to the 27th. Gregg Allman was unfortunately ill and couldn't make it, but a lot of musicians from the area like Jaimoe and Lamar Williams Jr. were there. On the 25th, we did a short gig at Gallery West; on the 26th, we did a few songs in a session with GABBA members on a stage in the back yard of the Allman Brothers Band Museum; and on the 27th we did a gig at the same place with Paul Hornsby, Georgia

I also visited the graves of Duane and Berry, of course.

I had the privilege of playing Duane's 1957 Gold Top that was displayed at the museum. It was precisely the sound of the Atlanta Pop Festival and their first album. Many thanks!

I left Duane's Les Paul Junior, that I brought along, in Jerry's hands so that it could be lent to this museum as soon as the paperwork is done.

★ Bumping into Vince Gill in Nashville

On Sept. 28th I visited a friend's repair shop, and lo and behold there is Vince Gill. We hit it off discussing vintage guitars. He told me that his favorite Telecaster is a 1953, and that the one ES-335 Cherry Dot he played at the All My Friends concert was a 1961. I gave him my CD and my "TONE MAN" book just before saying good-bye.

I even ended up giving him an autograph upon his request, but I forgot to get his!

★ Visiting the Gibson Factory

On the morning of Sept. 29th, I visited the Gibson factory and was greeted by Vice President Mr. Gember. What a surprise! I got to see the manufacturing process of one of the hottest guitars, the True Historic series.

★ Visiting Johnny Sandlin's Home

On the evening of Sept. 29th, I visited the home of our producer Johnny Sandlin located in Decatur, Alabama. This is the place where the Hour Glass members, including Duane and Gregg, used to live together. A decade has passed since 2005, but I felt at home in that old atmosphere.
